Women

There is nothing more tender or beautiful than a woman’s heart. We can’t help but feel the call to serve and give ourselves to others. Sometimes to the detriment of ourselves. While we are known to be the heart and peacemakers of our homes, we can often miss the importance of being fully present and connected to ourselves, our emotions and our seasons.

It is my desire to help women find their peace within themselves, no matter their season. To know their unique identity, connect with their potential and discover their raw beauty. To help reignite their dreams and passions. To give themselves the time and permission, to practice self love and compassion.

Each season of a woman’s life including being single, dating, married or motherhood is sacred and a gift to be enjoyed. However, without the correct community and environment of support, without a safe place to really process and reflect, to learn and to grow, every season can feel isolating and difficult. Beautiful woman this isn’t your call to perfection, but a shame free space to take off the mask and engage with your true emotions.

Teenagers

Adolescence is a time of rapid social, emotional, physical and neurological change. Teens are often seeking who they are outside of the family unit. They are going through significant cognitive adjustments and finding it harder to connect conversationally. They are becoming increasingly influenced by their peers and often more prone to risk taking. For these reasons and many others, it can be a challenging time for the young person and their family.

Adolescence is also an incredible window of opportunity. Each teen requires a community of adult support, which can also include a Counsellor. A space where questions can be asked, fears can be voiced and a sense of belonging created. Pure Heart Therapies aims to role model an environment of trust, learning and growth for teens and their families. To facilitate conversations of reflection, understanding and healing. Allowing teens and families to explore and alter unhelpful familiar patterns of behaviour and communication. To identify and build families strengths and traditions. To rewrite your story, your future and families generational legacy.

Couples

Wether you are dating, engaged, married or on the heartbreaking path of discussing separation, there are significant life choices that need to be made. Change is considered one of the greatest causes of anxiety within relationships and can often lead to difficulties and tension. How each persons responds to change, can be influenced by their family of origin, past experiences, triggers, unspoken inner vows and unhealed wounds.

Whether you are stuck in a dance of reactivity, where nothing either persons says is received the right way. Or neither partner feels heard, seen, valued or understood. Whether you are wanting to reestablish a sense of trust or build on your intimacy. If you are navigating a difficult season of transition and can’t find your equilibrium. Or if you are a couple wanting to prepare for your future marriage and enrich your connection and understanding. Pure Heart Therapies is a safe and shame free environment, to bring your true selves. To explore the unique contributions you each bring to the relationship and to build on each individuals identity and strengths. To facilitate an environment of understanding, of empathy and grace, as you gain tools to create the future and legacy you have always desired.

Multicultural

Married to an incredibly brave and courageous Indian man, I have witnessed first hand what it means to relocate. To transition to a new land, to build a sense of identity as a foreigner and seek a place of belonging. I will never completely understand the pain of leaving family, the longing for your homeland, the sometimes confronting differences in culture and the constant reminders, that you look and think “different”. However, Pure Heart Therapies honours your sacrifices and welcomes your experience of emotions. A space to share your unique story, to explore your identity and the influence of your culture and families heritage. An environment to feel seen, heard and valued. A place to belong.

Christian

Pure Heart Therapies was founded on the verse Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”. Through this verse God revealed we each have brokenness, barriers and issues of the heart that influence the lens through which we see Him. Unfortunately, this also stops us experiencing the very gift He created us for. To encounter His transformative, healing and all consuming love. All while learning to love ourselves and overflowing that love to others.

All God is after is our heart. He loves us so much that He wants to heal us, restore us, wipe away our tears and bring us into greater places of intimacy with Him. Over the last few years God has taken me on a wild adventure of living this for myself and then placed a passion in my heart to see it outworked in His people.

As our hearts are purified and our minds transformed, our eyes are opened to His true character. His goodness, faithfulness, mercy, protection and peace. Pure Heart Therapies is a space for the great Counsellor to speak, move and heal. All at the pace and comfortability of the individual, couple and family.

Deaf Community and Hard of Hearing

It was while working as an Occupational Therapist within the Deaf community that I chose to pursue a career in Counselling. I felt honoured to hear my clients stories through the use of an interpreter. I was humbled in my lack of awareness, ignorance and incorrect assumptions. I found myself the student, as each client shared their strong identity and rich Deaf culture.

The opportunity created a desire in me to go deeper in discussion. To facilitate a space for clients to share their unique stories and reflect on their experience within their family, school and community. To invoke a journey of self discovery, understanding and empowerment, for each individual, couple and family unit.

Grief

How does one grieve in a society that expects you to move on and remain alright? The truth is, there is no one way to grieve. However, it is important to allow yourself the time and space to experience the intense emotions that come with it. This can include sadness, shock, numbness, denial or even anger.

Grief can come through the loss of someone close, a divorce, a breakdown of a friendship, a serious illness, an unmet expectation or other significant losses. To truly grieve and process, we would be best not to deny our emotions. But to explore them in a safe and supportive environment. At Pure Heart Therapies, you have permission to grieve.
