"Restoring hearts, renewing minds & rewriting generational legacies." - Sarah Sibi Thomas

Hi I'm Sarah

I am a Counsellor studying Family Therapy, with an Occupational Therapy background and Advanced Diploma in Ministry and Theology.

I am a wife to a beautiful Indian man and mumma of two delightful and busy babes. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a Gold Coast Community member.

I am an advocate for families and on mission, to reform and rename family, in todays context.

I believe all things flow from the heart. Our words, actions, behaviours and beliefs, about ourselves and others, usually arise from the condition of our heart.

Quite often because of trauma, broken relationships, unmet needs, grief, and various kinds of pain and loss, we learn to put up barriers around our hearts.

This affects the way we communicate and behave, in the relationships that matter the most to us. We desperately want to be close to others. But out of self protection or fear, we consciously or subconsciously keep people at a distance.

Our hearts can become calloused and hard from wounds that have never been healed. And it becomes hard to give or receive love.

Eventually, it is difficult to imagine a life other than the one we live. We accept a script and a story, that we would have never written for ourselves. Slowly anxiety, depression, isolation, addiction and unhealthy coping mechanisms, find their way onto our life’s pages. And we are too full of shame, to bring our broken and bruised hearts, into full view. All in the fear that our mess will be too much for others to bare.

Pure Heart Therapies believes that no heart is too messy, no pain is too great, no behaviours are too ingrained. While inner healing is an ongoing journey and no two travellers will take the same path. There is a power in bearing your heart, and taking that first initial step.

Counselling & Family Therapy

Welcome to Pure Heart Therapies, an honouring and compassionate space for individuals, couples, and families to share, process and reflect on their unique stories, including the influence of families of origin.

Every person has a unique and beautiful story to share. Woven within these stories is a complex tapestry of context, relationships and life stages. Individuals, couples and families exist within the context of culture, spirituality, socio-economic status and societal norms. Often during seasons of both welcomed and unforeseeable change, difficulties and tensions arise within close relationships. Such life stages can include divorce, marriage, grief and loss, moving countries, commencing a new job, the birth of a child or financial difficulties.

It is my greatest honour to learn alongside of you, as you bravely share your story. It is my desire that you would feel seen, heard and valued as we explore your heritage and current difficulties through the lens of strengths. That you would understand the rich and complex interwoven tapestry of culture, relationships and life stages and their influence on your journey and presenting difficulties. As we momentarily stop, looking back in order to understand yourself, it is my hope you would feel inspired and encouraged to step forward into the future and culture you have always desired. Rewriting your future chapters and the legacy passed down through the generations.
