"Restoring hearts, renewing minds & rewriting generational legacies." - Sarah Sibi Thomas

Hi I'm Sarah

I am a Christian Counsellor with an Advanced Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy, a Bachelors in Occupational Therapy and an Advanced Diploma in Ministry and Theology.

I am a wife to a beautiful Indian man and mumma of two delightful and busy babes. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a Gold Coast Community member.

Years ago God gave me a vision, of bringing wounded soldiers back to life and back to their first Love. Pure Heart Therapies was founded on the verse Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God”.

Through my varied experience and 10 years of studies I desire to help people find healing and freedom in body, soul and spirit. All to encounter the Fathers true character. His transformative, healing and consuming love.

My personal life story, my love for the Church and my varied studies including 3 years of Ministry and Theology, all influence my passion to work with Christians, including Pastors, Church leaders, staff members and volunteers.

I desire to see holistic health for each individual, couple and family unit. I am honoured to hold an open and mask free environment for clients to share their unique life stories and hopes for the Counselling journey. To help uncover strengths, reignite dreams, rebuild unity, restore hearts, renew minds and rewrite generational legacies.

I am passionate to see the Church equipped as a safe space for the vulnerable and hurting. To help break down the common stigma around mental health and faith. To assist Christian’s understand and explore holistic wellbeing and be influenced by compassion and grace.

I believe all things flow from the heart. Our words, actions, behaviours and beliefs, about ourselves and others, usually arise from the condition of our heart.

Quite often because of trauma, broken relationships, unmet needs, grief, and various kinds of pain and loss, we learn to put up barriers around our hearts.

This affects the way we communicate and behave, in the relationships that matter the most to us. We desperately want to be close to others. But out of self protection or fear, we consciously or subconsciously keep people at a distance.

Our hearts can become calloused and hard from wounds that have never been healed. And it becomes hard to give or receive love.

Eventually, it is difficult to imagine a life other than the one we live. We accept a script and a story, that we would have never written for ourselves. Slowly anxiety, depression, isolation, addiction and unhealthy coping mechanisms, find their way onto our life’s pages. And we are too full of shame, to bring our broken and bruised hearts, into full view. All in the fear that our mess will be too much for others to bare.

Pure Heart Therapies is created to provide individuals, couples and family counselling, christian counselling and family therapy services. I believe that no heart is too messy, no pain is too great, no behaviours are too ingrained. While inner healing is an ongoing journey and no two travellers will take the same path. There is a power in bearing your heart, and taking that first initial step.
